Three days after returning from Montreal, I was heading back to Quebec again! Our friend had offered us a place to stay at a hotel just at the base of the mountain so we couldn’t resist. I started snowboarding about 3 years ago but didn’t go too often, however I bought gear after the first year since it was quite pricey to rent. This was my first time at Tremblant and was excited to take on the longer runs compared to what I’ve experienced in Ontario.
We started the 6 hour drive after work on Friday, but hit a fierce snowstorm as predicted. We made it to Ottawa for dinner around 11pm at our favourite Shawarma place, Shawarma Palace, and then arrived in Mont Tremblant at 2am. Somehow we woke up at 9am to hit the slopes the next morning.
Besides having one huge wipeout (already better than my previous trips), I had an amazing time. I could already see the improvement after a few runs, simply because I could practice carving for longer stretches versus having to constantly stop and taking the lift back up.
Our stay was short as we had to drive back on Sunday to work on Monday. One day was actually enough for me, I was sore from head to toe just after half a day of boarding. Unfortunately for us, we hit another snowstorm on the drive back. Thankful to hubby for driving all 8 hours in white-out conditions!
