From the first time I heard about the TD Five Boro Bike Tour in New York City, I made it a bucket list item to participate in the event. The Five Boro Bike Tour is a 40 mile (64km) ride through all 5 boroughs of New York on closed roads – Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island – and across 5 major bridges. Over 32,000 cyclists participated in the event this year! Even though I’m pretty terrified of biking after falling off a bike and breaking my elbow (resulting in 2 surgeries and 8 months of physio), I decided this…
Ottawa is our home away from home. Hubby studied there for University and I visited countless times throughout our long distance relationship and worked there for a few months as well. This year is Canada’s 150th anniversary, so there were even more festivities…
I took a short work trip to Montreal in early February, and it was the perfect opportunity for hubby to tag along the weekend before and do some exploring (mostly eating). On Friday after work we headed out and arrived in Montreal around 11pm. The drive was surprisingly easy (thanks to hubs for driving the whole way), and we were able to find parking right outside our Airbnb. Our Airbnb…
A close friend of ours was visiting from Australia and we wanted to take a quick weekend trip together. Hubby and him decided on Boston since neither of them have visited before. Unfortunately, last minute planning ended up in poor (or adventurous?) travel plans, resulting in driving 9 hours to New Hampshire first to pick up an iPhone from the Apple Store (no tax!), staying 24 hours in Boston and then driving 9 hours home. For those that know us, this type of travel is not unusual but I really think we’re getting too old for this 😉 We started off…
